The Rev. Steven Bolton, C.O., ordained to the priesthood on June 29, has received the priestly faculties of the Diocese of Metuchen and has been given the following pastoral assignments by Bishop Checchio:
Parochial Vicar, Church of the Holy Trinity , Bridgewater; and
Vice Rector, Shrine Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, Raritan.
Like all the Oratorian priests, Fr. Steven will be assisting all the apostolates entrusted to the Oratory.
Bishop Checchio will be visiting the Church of the Holy Trinity to celebrate the 5 pm Mass on Saturday, September 30, in observance of the parish 75th Anniversary. Then, he will join us for a 75th Anniversary Dinner/Dance from 6-10 pm at the Somerville Elks. The Pastor Emeritus, Fr. John Pringle, will also be in attendance.Tickets are $50 per person and are available for purchase after weekend Masses and from the Holy Trinity parish office.
St. Ann Parish in Raritan invites everyone to a "Restart the Festa" Dinner on Saturday, September 23 (the night before the Basilone Parade) from 5-9 pm in the school cafeteria. Brother Steven will be ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons by the Most Rev. Mario A. Aviles, C.O., Auxiliary Bishop of Brownsville, Texas, on Saturday, January 28, 2023, the Memorial of St. Thomas Aquinas, at 10:00 am in the Church of St. Joseph, Raritan, New Jersey. All are welcome to attend, and there will be a light reception following the Mass.
Bishop Checchio has authorized a special collection in all parishes of the Diocese of Metuchen, to benefit relief efforts in the aftermath of the destruction caused by Hurricane Ian. As the Year of St. Joseph concludes, all are invited to take part in the Consecration to St. Joseph, a 33-day journey of prayer with our spiritual father. Weekly group meetings begin Wednesday, November 3 at 7 pm, and the Consecration will take place Sunday, December 5, all at St. Joseph Church in Raritan.
