Bishop Checchio has appointed Fr. Kevin Kelly, C.O., as Administrator of the Church of St. Joseph, Raritan, effective September 1. Fr. Kevin, a visual artist and musician who is a founding member of the Raritan Oratory, was ordained in 2006. He has previously served as a campus ministry chaplain at Rutgers, and as Parochial Vicar of St. Peter the Apostle Parish, New Brunswick, and Holy Family Parish, New Brunswick, where he served the large community of Spanish-speaking immigrants, primarily from Mexico. He has also worked in the Office of Evangelization of the Diocese of Metuchen. For the past 15 years, he has spent several weeks each year serving in the Diocese of San Miguel, El Savador, and has made several mission trips to Puebla and Oaxaca in Mexico. Since coming to Raritan, Fr. Kevin has served as Parochial Vicar at St. Joseph's while establishing a Spanish Mass community in Raritan.
