The Raritan Congregation of the Oratory is a community of Roman Catholic priests and brothers who embrace the spiritual path of St. Philip Neri. It is a life rooted in personal and communal prayer, humility, fraternal charity, and Christian joy. While the Oratorian way began during the Sixteenth Century, our particular Congregation was formally established by the Servant of God Pope John Paul II, on September 8, 1998. The members of the Congregation serve the parishes of St. Ann, Raritan, St. Joseph, Raritan, and Holy Trinity, Bridgewater; St. Ann School, Raritan (the only Classical Catholic school in the Diocese); the Shrine Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament, Raritan (the first Traditional Latin Mass community in the Diocese); and a developing outreach to the Latino population in the Raritan area. Associated with the Congregation is a vibrant community of over 50 lay people called the Secular Oratory.
The Raritan Oratory offers various opportunities for prayer, formation, and education as we seek to further strengthen the Catholic laity in their faith and mission. Our events and activities are open to everyone. For more information, please see the calendar of events or contact us.
As an independent, autonomous Oratorian house, we are responsible for the formation and seminary education of our members, as well as the care of our retired and/or infirm members, and we must be financially self-sufficient. The Raritan Oratory is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Contributions are always appreciated, and are tax-deductible. To make a contribution, please contact us.
